Ankur Datta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at South Asian University. His work addresses themes of displacement, place-making, history, memory and the politics of victimhood. He has conducted field work in Jammu and Delhi. He has published his research journals such as Modern Asian Studies, History and Anthropology, and Contributions to Indian Sociology. He is the author of On Uncertain Ground: Displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir (Oxford University Press, 2017), and is currently interested in the emergence of languages of victimhood in South Asia.
