Hatizah Rashid
Khadija (Hatizah) Rashid graduated with a Bachelor in International Relations (Honours) from the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences in July 2021. In her thesis, she explored the significance of using faith-based diplomacy as a tool of conflict transformation in the context of the Kashmir issue. She is part of the Asia Pacific Working Group at the Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes (GAAMAC), through which she contributed to the report on Preventing Hate Speech, Incitement, and Discrimination in November 2021, authoring the chapter on Pakistan.
Hatizah’s most recent publication is Politicisation of Islam and a culture of atrocities against religious minorities in modern-day Pakistan in a special issue of Global Responsibility to Protect (GR2P) journal. Her areas of interest include religious nationalism, politicisation of religion, religiously-motivated violence, and atrocity prevention, particularly in the context of South Asia. Currently, Hatizah works as a Project Officer as part of the Partnerships and Engagement team at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific and works remotely as a Graduate Research Intern at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore (ISAS-NUS).
