Heba Al-Adawy completed her PhD in the program of International, Strategic and Political Studies at Australian National University. Her thesis offers a political ethnography of the militarised university in Pakistan and conceptualises 'dirty politics' as a set of ideological practices that displace critique in cultural and educational sites. Her work is situated at the intersection of Critical Development Studies, Critical Military Studies, and Intepretive Political Science. Her interests include militarisation in South Asia, youth activism and development practices, South Asian diaspora politics in (liberal) settler colonies and multiculturalism in liberal as well as il(liberal) contexts.
