Niru Perera is a sociolinguist and a research fellow at Curtin University in Australia. She conducts research on language policy, linguistic justice and health communication. Her focus is on Sri Lankan languages in the homeland and diaspora. Her book 'Negotiating Linguistic and Religious Diversity: A Tamil Hindu Temple in Australia' is published by Routledge.
